Harvey Hits Texas – Another Storm Cometh – Was Ellen White a True or False Prophet?

Share

Today is Monday, August 28, and I am back at our White Horse Media office after some much-needed R and R. As I view pictures from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, my head is spinning. Only those enduring this disaster really know what it’s like.

According to God’s “sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19), a much larger crisis cometh, which will soon strike the whole world (see Daniel 12:1). Over 100 years ago, a woman named Ellen White (1827-1915) predicted: “Transgression has almost reached its limit. Confusion fills the world…The end is very near. We who know the truth should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise.” Testimonies, vol. 8, p. 28. Who was Ellen White? Those who know of her 70+ year ministry realize that throughout her lifetime she received over 2,000 visions and dreams about many topics, including the end-times and the infinite love of God for each of us. The Bible itself predicts that in “the last days” God would pour out His Holy Spirit and many “sons” (men) and “daughters” (women) shall “see visions,” “dream dreams,” and “prophesy” (Acts 2:16-18). Ellen White claimed to be one of those women to receive divine illumination. The question is: Was she a true or false prophetess? White Horse Media has just released a new video entitled, God Speaks About … which examines the claims of Mrs. White, based on the Bible. Lord willing (pray for us), this will be Part 1 in an ongoing series that will examine critical Bible topics, end-time events, and the rapidly intensifying great controversy between our loving Lord Jesus Christ and his personal adversary, Satan. Part 1 is completed, edited, can be viewed below, and is ready for sharing widely via social media.

There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus is coming soon. When the final storm breaks that will lead to His return, our only hope is to find refuge in our loving Savior. Isaiah predicted, “A Man [Jesus] will be as a hiding place from the wind, and a cover from the tempest” (Isa. 32:2). No matter who we are or what we’ve done, Jesus is ready and willing to help us. At the foot of His cross we can all find mercy, forgiveness, everlasting love, and peace.

  1. as we see all these disasters around us, even I know that God is near even at the door. We need now more than ever to study our Bibles and know what they say, and be ready to answer any ones questions regrading all these things, for we know not when they will come near to us or our loved ones. Thank you for all that you do. God Bless and may you continue to spread the good news.

  2. I find the majority of Christians I know are still fast asleep. Even though end time events are becoming more frequent and fierce, folks seem to not notice. What is it going to take for folks to wake up and take notice? I, too, believe we are in earth’s final end, and Jesus will return very soon. Wow! The things that are taking place all around is alarming. I pray we will be ready when He comes to take us home.

  3. Yes, Yeshua’s, the Messiah is coming back soon. I agree folks are asleep, especially, the world, but also most Christians because of some end-time false prophets and false teachers whom they believe in. Finally, most do not read the Living God’s love letter, the Holy Scriptures. Barbara Harper September 2,2017 @3:05 p.m

  4. Perfect agreement with Colleen and Barbara; most Christians seem to be asleep. A few are beginning to awaken. I pray to God that I am one of them! I’m starting a bible study group in the Senior Housing where I live. God has let me live (87) to this point. He must have something for me still to do. Please pray for me and my new outreach effort.

  5. Yes! One can see the writing is on the wall. Even though I know these things are about to happen and know I should not be scared I just am. May God be with us and I still great faith in us. Keep holding on to Jesus and keep praying ????

  6. Hello Steve
We are so near the end. Our world is in an absolute mess, and the concern of world leaders is becoming more apparent every day. Here in Perth, Western Australia the news media are asking questions about world events, they seem worried. There’s so much going on! Truly, one can see that all that Jesus predicted in coming true. Oh that we might be prepared for His soon return and be found in Him. “. . . Those who were ready went in with Him to the wedding, and the door was shut” (Matt 25:10). May we keep our hearts with all diligence through the difficult times ahead as we claim His promise, “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24).
